About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide Tier 3 support to the 24x7 Network Operations Center (NOC)
Support LAN, WAN, customer networks, intranet, internet, and other data communications systems
Monitor the network to ensure availability to all system users
Perform necessary maintenance to support network availability
Maintain network hardware and software
Proactively identify network risks and develop mitigation plans
Support telecommunications requirements including LAN, MAN, WAN, voice, and video
Provide superior network troubleshooting expertise

Requirements

What you’ll need

TSSCI with poly clearance
Advanced networking qualifications including MPLS, BGP, OSPF, LAMBDA
LAN/MAN/WAN/Optical specialization
Utilization of common ticket systems (Remedy, ServiceNow)
Utilization of common network management tools (HPOV, HPNA, Solarwinds, MNS, Netcool, etc.)
Hands-on troubleshooting and fault isolation of IT business systems
Strong understanding of the OSI model
Configuration of routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, BGP, LDP
12 years of applicable experience through a combination of education and work history: high school degree + 12 years, associate degree + 10 years, bachelor's + 8 years, master's + 6 years, or PhD + 4 years
Preferred network certifications: Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Juniper JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIE, ITIL Foundations, and/or CISSP
