About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide Tier 3 support to the 24x7 Network Operations Center (NOC)
- Support LAN, WAN, customer networks, intranet, internet, and other data communications systems
- Monitor the network to ensure availability to all system users
- Perform necessary maintenance to support network availability
- Maintain network hardware and software
- Proactively identify network risks and develop mitigation plans
- Support telecommunications requirements including LAN, MAN, WAN, voice, and video
- Provide superior network troubleshooting expertise
Requirements
What you’ll need- TSSCI with poly clearance
- Advanced networking qualifications including MPLS, BGP, OSPF, LAMBDA
- LAN/MAN/WAN/Optical specialization
- Utilization of common ticket systems (Remedy, ServiceNow)
- Utilization of common network management tools (HPOV, HPNA, Solarwinds, MNS, Netcool, etc.)
- Hands-on troubleshooting and fault isolation of IT business systems
- Strong understanding of the OSI model
- Configuration of routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, BGP, LDP
- 12 years of applicable experience through a combination of education and work history: high school degree + 12 years, associate degree + 10 years, bachelor's + 8 years, master's + 6 years, or PhD + 4 years
- Preferred network certifications: Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Juniper JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIE, ITIL Foundations, and/or CISSP
