  • Maintain technical documentation, design notes, and testing coverage for the features you build.
  • Build working knowledge of distributed systems, service architecture, and Astronomer's product across the application layer.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 0–4 years of experience in software or application engineering (or equivalent internship/coursework for Software Engineer I)
  • Working knowledge of at least one backend language (Go, TypeScript, Python) and familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React or similar)
  • Understanding of REST/GraphQL API design and how frontend and backend systems communicate.
  • Comfortable with version control (Git) and automated testing practices (unit, integration, or end-to-end).
  • Clear written communication and a habit of documenting your work.
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and iterating quickly.
  • Nice to have: Hands-on experience with modern frontend tooling (React, state management, component libraries) or backend frameworks.
