About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver education on disease state, patient identification, NF1 PN management, and Rare Disease product information to healthcare professionals
  • Drive sales achievement and relationship development across the patient journey within aligned institutions and surrounding hospital service areas
  • Develop and implement clinical sales presentations for healthcare personnel
  • Maximize physician contact through networking within accounts and at medical meetings
  • Achieve or exceed sales objectives in the assigned territory
  • Execute tailored hospital selling strategies that drive results
  • Create and maintain targeted, account-specific business plans
  • Develop and maintain clinical, technical, scientific knowledge and high-level clinical dialogue
  • Collaborate with TLLs, SALs, MSLs, FRMs, Market Access, Diagnostics, and other Enterprise partners
  • Handle customer questions and objections compliantly and triage inquiries to appropriate partners
  • Educate stakeholders on the clinical approach to the disease state and support accurate diagnosis
  • Demonstrate proper product use to clinicians and healthcare teams in hospital environments
  • Lead implementation of a patient-centric partnership model involving physicians, staff, patients, clinics, and hospitals
  • Seek and qualify leads and profile new accounts
  • Track activities and submit accurate, timely sales reports
  • Interact proactively with management to refine product and market initiatives
  • Manage time, priorities, CRM tools, resources, and workload
  • Perform work in alignment with Alexion's Code of Ethics, Business Conduct, policies, and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 6 years of biotechnology/pharmaceutical sales experience
  • At least 3 years of biotechnology/pharmaceutical sales experience calling on institutions and hospital systems
  • At least 2 years of documented, successful pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience in Oncology, Rare Disease, or relevant experience
  • Experience managing complex systems approaches and developing multidisciplinary teams in institutions
  • Strong institutional navigation and stakeholder influence mapping capabilities
  • Ability to engage diverse specialties and disciplines
  • Proven, documented track record of consistent top-tier sales results in institutions and hospital systems
  • Ability to work independently and in an interdependent, team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated ability to seek and qualify leads and profile new accounts
  • Ability to gain access and develop professional relationships for scientific exchange and promotion with healthcare providers in institutions, IDNs, and academic centers
  • Effective administration and efficient management of time, CRM tools, resources, and workload
  • Effective verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel regularly within the territory, including frequent overnight and weekend travel
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to travel by public transportation, automobile, train, or plane
  • Ability to work comfortably in a clinical setting
  • Ability to use a computer and communicate via phone, video, and electronic messaging
