Provide dedicated focus to a specific group of accounts and HCPs primarily in health systems/pharmacies, academic centers, alternate sites of care, multispecialty physician groups, and federal accounts
Conduct business planning and needs assessment of accounts and working with internal and external collaborators to meet the needs of selected accounts
Develop superior product and disease state knowledge and effectively educate and engage account-based healthcare professionals in dialogue about clinical evidence, approved indications, transitions of care and product efficacy/safety profiles to support on-label prescribing for Respiratory Biologics and appropriate patients
Utilize internal AZ stakeholders to engage with accounts where appropriate
Demonstrate deep understanding of account dynamics, stakeholder mapping and management, referral network navigation, access, account department drivers, patient flow, etc.
Create, maintain and implement Strategic Account Plans, providing account and patient-focused solutions, and connecting the right solution to the right account stakeholder
Function independently with a high degree of coordination and sales proficiency to generate demand and ensure brand forecasts and assigned budgets meet or exceed therapeutic and territory expectations
Successfully complete training requirements, including product examinations and health systems/ federal accounts training
Capitalize on formulary approvals and other opportunities through effective implementation of the strategic targeting plans by using promotional, personnel resources and analytical tools to maximize effectiveness in assigned sales geography, based on local assessment of customer needs
Proactively identify business opportunities, present value propositions aligned to stakeholder needs and objectives and recommend solutions to drive and develop business
Collaborate across functional areas within sales, market access, medical affairs around common objectives and coordinate efforts to ensure seamless delivery and flow of our biologics medicines to our account customers and their appropriate patients
Provide special education to healthcare providers through appropriate programs, initiatives that fall within AstraZeneca's ethical guidelines
Requirements
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 5 years of Pharmaceutical/ Biotech Specialty Sales experience
Demonstrated experience and mastery in account management
Track record of account specialty experience, engaging key stakeholders in complex clinical environments (mid to senior level healthcare professionals, key accounts, and the medical community)
Proven demonstration of successfully working in complex cross functional teams
Strong scientific acumen in a highly competitive environment
Knowledge of reimbursement and distribution challenges of a biologic product and triage to internal AZ stakeholders when appropriate
Ability to travel – 60% travel
A valid driver's license and safe driving record
