Therapy Area Specialist – Renal Metabolism

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Scientific advisory and customer support
- Expert-level consultation: Support and therapeutic consultation for diabetology and nephrology specialists in hospitals and private practice on a scientifically sound level with a focus on the therapeutic areas of type 2 diabetes mellitus and renal insufficiency.
- Design and implementation of tailored continuing education and training concepts that address current customer needs and are aligned with the respective target groups.
- Active participation in specialist congresses, sponsorships and scientific events – to strengthen customer relationships and for personal professional development.
- Systematic analysis and evaluation of available market data to identify growth opportunities and strategic action areas in the fields of type 2 diabetes mellitus and renal insufficiency.
- Development of robust account plans with optimal use of available budget – in close coordination with Medical, Marketing and Therapy Area Specialists in adjacent regions.
- Consistent implementation of corporate strategy through tailored measures while strictly adhering to all internal and external policies and applicable compliance requirements.
- Close collaboration with First Line Sales Managers, Medical Science Liaison Managers and the Marketing team to gain relevant stakeholder insights and to optimize cross-functional activities.
- Active exchange of market and customer information to continuously improve regional and national sales strategies.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed degree in a natural science or business administration – alternatively qualification as a certified pharmaceutical sales representative according to § 75 AMG or equivalent.
- Proven experience in supporting specialist physicians in hospitals and private practice, ideally in specialized therapeutic areas such as type 2 diabetes mellitus and renal insufficiency.
- Solid experience in account management and strategic customer development, including creation and implementation of account plans.
- In-depth knowledge of products, competitive landscape and customer segments in the areas of type 2 diabetes mellitus and renal insufficiency.
- Strong communication skills, confident demeanour when engaging with medical experts and convincing presentation abilities.
- High willingness for interdisciplinary collaboration and active contribution within the team.
- High travel readiness within the territory and flexibility in work arrangements.
- Fluent German skills and good English skills, both written and spoken.
- Excellent MS Office skills and affinity for digital tools and CRM systems.
