About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as the main contact and manage relationships with all statutory and private health insurers regarding all contracts and collaborations.
  • Independently responsible for the strategic and tactical preparation and conduct of negotiations for direct contracts (under §130a and §130c SGB V) with representatives of health insurers in the pharmaceutical and care sectors, at both operational and decision-making levels.
  • Sole responsibility for the entire tender process for company-relevant open-house and exclusive contracts.
  • Calculation of business cases as the basis for decisions on entering into rebate contracts, as well as the assessment and preparation of decision papers and recommendations for management.
  • Project management with various stakeholders (e.g., health insurers, physician networks) to ensure patient access to our products.
  • Development and design of special hospital/clinic terms and conditions in cross-functional collaboration.
  • Exploring new approaches to collaboration with health insurers: establishing a concept to monitor agreements and measures concluded as part of rebate contract negotiations. The aim is to work with health insurers and other stakeholders in a project-management-oriented way and to increase commitment to the defined measures.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in Economics, Natural Sciences, or several years of relevant experience in pricing in the pharmaceutical industry or with a health insurer.
  • Extensive knowledge of the German healthcare system.
  • Strong knowledge of rebate contracts (open-house and exclusive) as well as knowledge of special care under §140a SGB V and other contractual models used by health insurers.
  • Insight into the situation and motivations of the main stakeholders, particularly health insurers.
  • Ability to evaluate technical findings from a business perspective, prepare them, and communicate them internally.
  • Experience in developing business cases.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to work across teams and functions.
  • Ability to work in a structured, precise and quality-conscious manner, including under tight deadlines.
  • Confident and trustworthy external presence.
  • Effective relationship-management skills.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in German and English.
  • Enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams and possess good communication skills.
  • Openness to new ideas and willingness to develop and actively shape the evolving requirements and priorities of the role.
