Therapy Area Specialist, Amyloidosis
AstraZenecaTherapy Area Specialist advising neurologists and cardiologists within specialized centers at AstraZeneca. Driving network structures to enhance patient pathways and contributing to treatment standards in a competitive environment.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide professional support and therapeutic guidance to neurologists, cardiologists, and other specialists at specialized centers and key referring accounts
- Work across hospital departments to deliver holistic account management
- Identify opportunities along the patient pathway for accounts and substantiate them with market and potential analyses
- Drive the development of regional network structures to improve the patient pathway, taking current customer needs into account
- Ensure the product contributes to patient care through specialist physicians
- Implement account strategies and plans while strictly adhering to internal and external regulations and managing the available budget responsibly
- Participate in congresses, sponsorships and events for customer engagement and professional development
- Support close coordination and collaboration with internal stakeholders to optimize marketing, sales and medical activities
- Consistently execute company strategy and measures to ensure target achievement while considering the individual needs of each target group/customer
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree in business administration or a natural science, or equivalent qualification, or certified pharmaceutical representative
- 3–5 years of field experience supporting specialist physicians and experience with rare diseases or other specialty care areas
- Experience in business development or account management with a strong business-driven mindset
- Ideal to have existing market and customer knowledge for the area or be willing to acquire it in a targeted manner
- Confident presence with persuasive ability, strong communication skills and enthusiasm, including in challenging situations
- Comfortable using and integrating multiple channels for customer interaction
- Proficient with MS Office, common project management tools and CRM systems
- Fluent German and English, both written and spoken
