About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries related to leave of absence, disability, and other HR matters via phone, chat, and email
  • Own, investigate, and resolve employee contacts and cases
  • Handle case intake, answer policy questions, explain documentation requirements, and outline next steps
  • Research knowledge bases, FAQs, and standard operating procedures to resolve inquiries and escalate unresolved cases
  • Conduct empathetic conversations to assess employee needs and adjust case management plans
  • Respond to issues during leave events and ensure timely communication and documentation
  • Analyze leave, disability, and accommodation requests using judgment and critical thinking
  • Document and track employee interactions accurately in the case management system
  • Guide employees toward self-service tools and resources
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Benefits, Payroll, Talent Management, Stocks, Operations, and other cross-functional teams
  • Provide feedback on process changes and help improve HR policies and procedures
  • Handle confidential employee information according to data privacy and security requirements
  • Adapt to changing workloads, priorities, time zones, and high-volume phone, chat, and email interactions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience providing customer service or support, preferably handling inbound calls and chat-based inquiries
  • Ability to demonstrate and communicate empathy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex information clearly and professionally
  • Ability to research information using multiple resources
  • Ability to analyze situations, solve problems, and make sound decisions using judgment and critical thinking
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with changing workloads and priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate case documentation skills
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee information under strict data privacy standards
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Prior human resources or HR support experience is beneficial
  • Exposure to leave of absence, disability, or accommodations processes is advantageous
  • Experience with global or multi-region employee populations is a plus
  • Comfort using HR tools, case management systems, knowledge bases, and online self-service platforms
  • Ability to collaborate with HR, Benefits, Payroll, and Operations teams
  • Dedicated, quiet workspace at home suitable for confidential conversations
  • Flexibility to work with different time zones
  • Ability to be on camera during training and the nesting period
