About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review high-volume CapEx and construction-in-progress invoices for accurate coding and capitalization
- Determine capital expenditure versus operating expense treatment and document accounting judgments
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses for CapEx, fixed assets, and related accounts
- Support the month-end close through timely CapEx postings and supporting schedules
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and analyses for CapEx, CIP, and fixed assets
- Use NetSuite across multiple subsidiaries, including proper intercompany treatment
- Analyze large datasets, support job costing, and create reports using advanced Excel
- Collaborate with operations and finance on project details, job costing, and project accounting
- Apply public-company controls and reporting requirements and support audit requests
- Identify process improvements in CapEx accounting, fixed asset management, and month-end close
- Use data center experience, where applicable, to understand project structures, asset categories, and cost drivers
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4–8+ years of accounting experience with increasing responsibility
- Strong CapEx accounting experience and capitalization-versus-OpEx judgment
- High-volume CapEx and CIP invoice review experience
- Proficiency with NetSuite across multiple subsidiaries
- Month-end close experience, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Fixed asset accounting knowledge, including depreciation, disposals, and transfers
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions
- Experience in a large public company environment and familiarity with controls and reporting requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliation
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a fully remote environment
- CPA designation
- Public accounting experience
- Job costing and project accounting experience
- Data center environment experience beneficial but not required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Proactive process improvement approach and adaptability
