About the role

  • The Civil Engineer will work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team within a Client's Approving Authority, primarily supporting operations and future programs at the client sites
  • The role involves working alongside Mechanical, Building Services, and Electrical Engineers to author, develop, assess, and maintain Engineering Design Substantiation
  • Develop, assess, and manage Design Substantiation documents
  • Lead the development and control of design changes and concessions
  • Present design substantiations to safety committees
  • Produce and maintain EIMT schedules, procedures, and records to support the safety case
  • Prepare and review Periodic Review of Safety reports
  • Provide expert engineering advice to internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct Independent Technical and Peer Reviews (ITA/IPR)
  • Apply both general and specialist knowledge to integrate emerging technologies
  • Use practical and theoretical methods across all project phases in high-risk/nuclear environments
  • Deliver robust technical justifications for civil/structural design changes in safety-critical contexts

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Civil/Structural design experience
  • Proven ability to produce technical justifications for civil/structural design modifications in high-hazard industries
  • Skilled in applying theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, and manage engineering processes in nuclear/high-risk environments
  • Strong foundation in general and specialist engineering knowledge, utilizing both existing and emerging technologies
  • Civil/Structural Engineering degree
  • Incorporated engineer (or equivalent experience)
  • Chartered engineer (or equivalent experience)
