About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute regional sales plans to meet new business premium and case count targets
  • Recruit, develop, and manage a network of distribution relationships, focused on classic worksite brokers, and small employee benefits brokers in the 25-500 life employer market
  • Work collaboratively with internal regional wholesaler to deliver exceptional service
  • Engage regularly with distribution
  • Serve as primary Company contact for top-producing agencies/brokers in the region
  • Conduct regular business reviews with key partners to assess production, service needs, and growth opportunities
  • Deliver product training to distribution partners on plan designs, positioning, and underwriting guidelines
  • Advise and support development of competitive case proposals
  • Advise on enrollment methods, communication strategy, and re-enrollment planning to maximize participation and retention
  • Work with administrative teams to identify opportunities to enhance service
  • Collaborate with marketing on programs and collateral materials
  • Provide input to product development on emerging voluntary benefit needs
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date CRM records of distribution relationships and activity
  • Deliver regular sales forecasts and regional performance reports to sales leadership
  • Monitor persistency/lapse trends and develop retention action plans as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Four to eight years of experience working in a carrier representative position with a worksite focused carrier.
  • Professional oral and written communication and presentation skills required.
  • Decision-making ability and analytical thinking skills required.
  • Experience in public speaking.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Talent required in achiever, pride, persuasion, courage, communication, business sense, critical thinking, sophistication, relator, personalizer, belief, discipline, responsibility, and focus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent. Life and health insurance license preferred.
