About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Obtain a basic understanding of insurance accounting, terminology, and assigned warranty programs.
  • Complete standard journal entries for warranty programs with adequate support and approvals.
  • Complete assigned account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
  • Collaborate with various departments and follow up to research and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Prepare wire transfers and check requests with appropriate approvals.
  • Assist financial analysts with audit requests and ad hoc questions about financial results.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for required position tasks.
  • Protect organizational value by keeping information confidential.
  • Perform other projects and assignments as needed to accommodate changing departmental and company needs.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or another accounting/finance-related field.
  • 2–3 years of general accounting experience.
  • Experience in journal entry processing, ledger reconciliations, and general accounting.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; detail-oriented.
  • Strong technical accounting and problem-solving skills with attention to accuracy.
  • Ability to stay organized while managing multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and Word.
  • PeopleSoft, Oracle, SmartStream, or another general ledger ERP system experience preferred.
  • Insurance accounting experience would be a plus.
  • Good work ethics.
