About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide and serve as a resource for security and compliance related tasks and projects
- Develop, support, and execute processes enforcing Assurant security policies and standards
- Enforce regulatory requirements, contractual agreements/obligations, and IT security or privacy requirements
- Respond to security incidents
- Participate in security and compliance audits
- Enforce privacy and confidentiality of sensitive information according to company policies
- Maintain current understanding of evolving threats and defensive technologies
- Maintain awareness of contemporary security laws, standards, practices, and methods
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of experience in an information technology role
- 1+ years of experience with IT Security
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2+ years of experience in a technical information security role
- 5+ years of experience in an information technology role
- Working knowledge of information security control technologies, including EDR, web and email gateways, access control, cryptography, vulnerability management, SIEM/log management, ID/IPS, zero-trust networks, and DLP
- Working knowledge of network protocols, desktops, laptops, DNS, and networking devices including servers, routers, VPNs, proxies, and firewalls
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including discussing technical topics with non-technical audiences
- Ability to present oneself professionally and understand the importance of honesty and ethics
- Ability to engage and collaborate with employees and maintain a friendly, approachable demeanor
