About the role
- Define and lead the global financial data governance strategy in alignment with Global Financial Systems and enterprise data strategy.
- Establish and maintain a dimensional data model that supports enterprise-wide financial reporting and analytics.
- Define and enforce data policies, standards, and procedures for financial data.
- Establish data stewardship roles and responsibilities across finance and business units.
- Support ERP and financial system implementations with robust master data strategies and lead mapping/migration from legacy systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data governance tools and workflows and design/maintain MDM systems.
- Own the lifecycle of finance-related master data (e.g., chart of accounts, cost centers, legal entities, product etc.).
- Monitor data quality metrics, lead remediation efforts for financial data inconsistencies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and mentor a matrixed team responsible for data governance operations across Finance.
- Partner with Accounting/Finance, IT, Risk, and Compliance leaders and represent Finance in cross-functional governance and ERP program leadership meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or ERP implementation roles.
- Proven experience leading data governance or master data management initiatives.
- Strong accounting background with solid understanding of Accounting and Finance processes.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday) and Master Data Management platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with data privacy, controls and compliance regulations.
- Preferred: CPA, CFA, MBA, or relevant certification (e.g., CDMP, PMP).
- Preferred: Experience with cloud-based financial systems and data governance platforms.
