About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Implements process improvement and automation initiatives within the tax department
  • Manages and maintains financial reporting tax data and processes related to TBO, ITBO, ONESOURCE Tax Provision (OTP), Global Access and ONESOURCE Income Tax (OIT) systems
  • Maintains tax systems for changes in GAAP, STAT, or Tax law and updates to accounts or entities in the Assurant consolidated group
  • Develops, maintains, and distributes reporting tools (Microsoft BI Cubes, Microsoft Power BI and SSRS reports, Analytic Workbooks, etc.) and validation reports
  • Manages tax technology training and guidance to tax personnel globally
  • Data processing for Federal & State Compliance & Quarterly Reporting for preparation & analysis

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 2 years overall tax experience involving systems, process improvement, and/or tax technology
  • SEC/GAAP Financial statement tax provision preparation/review experience
  • Corporate Federal and State Compliance Experience
  • Experience with generative AI, robotic process automation (RPA) and Microsoft Power Platform
  • Advanced excel knowledge
  • CPA or CA required
  • Insurance/Financial services industry taxation experience
  • Relevant Degree and Masters preferred
  • SQL or python coding
  • Self-starter and curious about systems and process improvements
