About the role

  • Gain hands-on experience in how risk management supports the success of Commercial Banking.
  • Learn and apply Associated Bank’s risk management frameworks, including risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Understand the commercial lending cycle and the wide range of banking products that support business clients.
  • Analyze business processes to identify and assess risks across multiple commercial banking lines.
  • Collaborate with corporate risk management teams to monitor and report risk exposures.
  • Assist in preparing risk dashboards and metrics, including key risk and performance indicators.
  • Support project planning and coordination of key initiatives within Commercial Banking.
  • Participate in specialized training to deepen knowledge and enhance professional skills.
  • Complete program assignments and assessments within required timeframes, demonstrating continuous learning and growth.

Requirements

  • First-generation college student currently pursuing an undergraduate degree.
  • Must reside within 30 miles of Milwaukee or Chicago for the duration of the internship.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Interest in banking, finance, or risk management.
  • Coursework or prior experience related to business, finance, or data analysis preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership or involvement in campus or community organizations preferred.
