About the role
- Preparation of VAT advance returns and the annual VAT return, as well as preparation of the annual tax return in coordination with external tax advisors
- Preparation and submission of the monthly recapitulative statement (ZM) and Intrastat declarations
- Point of contact for VAT-related questions domestically and internationally
- Analysis of statistics and key business performance indicators
- Review, coding and posting of ongoing business transactions
- Independent handling of day-to-day operations including cash and bank
- Maintenance of fixed asset accounting
- Reconciliation of intercompany transactions
- Support during tax audits
- Contact person for auditors, tax consultants and authorities
- Processing of travel expenses
- Occasional participation in accounts receivable management
Requirements
- Successfully completed commercial vocational training (accounting, tax clerk (m/f/d) or similar)
- Further qualification as a certified balance sheet accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) desirable
- Knowledge of VAT law and initial experience in international business desirable
- Experience in the construction industry desirable
- Good IT skills (MS Office and Dynamics AX desirable)
- Good written and spoken English
- Structured working style, reliable and team-oriented
