About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide bereavement and grief support directly to donor families
Support, guide, and provide direction for the donor family aftercare program of UW Organ and Tissue Donation (UW OTD)
Serve as a key liaison between donor families and various stakeholders, including hospital staff, partner organizations, and community groups
Gather donor family feedback, provide observation and feedback, and collaborate with leadership to engage in process improvement process
Maintain and facilitate the private donor family services social media group page

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in social work, nursing, grief/bereavement care or related field Required
Master's Degree in social work, nursing, grief/bereavement care or related field Preferred
2 years of experience in a healthcare setting Required
Experience in organ procurement or transplantation Preferred
Experience in end of life settings, Hospice, or ICU setting Preferred
Must possess a current, valid driver’s license issued by the individual’s state of residence. Must be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience to operate a Personal Vehicle, Patient/Visitor Vehicle, or standard UW Health Fleet Vehicle. Upon Hire Required
