About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide bereavement and grief support directly to donor families
  • Support, guide, and provide direction for the donor family aftercare program of UW Organ and Tissue Donation (UW OTD)
  • Serve as a key liaison between donor families and various stakeholders, including hospital staff, partner organizations, and community groups
  • Gather donor family feedback, provide observation and feedback, and collaborate with leadership to engage in process improvement process
  • Maintain and facilitate the private donor family services social media group page

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, nursing, grief/bereavement care or related field Required
  • Master's Degree in social work, nursing, grief/bereavement care or related field Preferred
  • 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting Required
  • Experience in organ procurement or transplantation Preferred
  • Experience in end of life settings, Hospice, or ICU setting Preferred
  • Must possess a current, valid driver’s license issued by the individual’s state of residence. Must be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience to operate a Personal Vehicle, Patient/Visitor Vehicle, or standard UW Health Fleet Vehicle. Upon Hire Required
