About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise daily operations of a team of medication access specialists and coordinators, providing direction, support, workload management, and performance oversight
  • Lead integration and coordination efforts across multiple UW Health medication related prior authorization and support programs, ensuring aligned processes, clear communication, and consistent service delivery
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Medicare and commercial payer reimbursement requirements, including Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs), prior authorization criteria, and both medical and pharmacy benefit billing mechanisms

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in a health care field. Experience in lieu of education will be considered in addition to required work experience. Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
  • 3 years of medication prior authorization experience Required
  • Experience with pharmacy and/or medical benefit prior authorizations and reimbursement Required
  • 5 years previous medication prior authorization and claims adjudication experience Preferred
  • 5 years of supervisory experience Preferred
  • Experience working in a role in a patient care setting Preferred
  • Experience in both pharmacy and medical benefit prior authorizations Preferred
  • Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required or
  • Pharmacy Tech Registration Upon Hire Required
