About the role

  • Join our Information Technology team as a Senior Project Manager to provide strategic direction, coordination and tracking of organization priority projects, large-scale projects as it relates to IT Operations, Information Security (Cyber) and Technical Support.
  • Lead and support overall efforts to streamline and refine IT best practices and processes.
  • Be an integral role on the IT team, ensuring planning and execution aligns with organizational values and involves key stakeholders.
  • Partner with teams across the organization to support achievement of team-specific and organization-wide goals.
  • Develop robust project plans that are geared toward success for IT projects.
  • Apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to create and support scalable, compliant ASPCA mission-critical information systems.
  • Manage the execution of key organizational technology priority projects and initiatives, tracking multiple streams of work.
  • Proactively manage scope, actions, issues, and risks to ensure project success; follow change control procedures.
  • Assess current delivery practices and lead the evolution of the Product, Data, and Reporting Solutions development team to a fully functioning project management model.
  • Provide meeting planning and facilitation, including project team meetings, document reviews, and client-driven meetings.

Requirements

  • High School degree or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • PMP or similar certification required
  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience, with a minimum of 7 years leading large-scale IT projects (building tracking systems, implementation of processes and deliverables) in a large business or non-profit
  • Demonstrated experience leading or significantly contributing to assessing existing project management approaches to look for improvement opportunities and adopting those improvements with the project team as a whole (all stakeholders)
  • Proficiency in project management experience leading custom product/application development projects,
  • Proficiency in project management experience leading data warehouse migration/data mapping and big data and reporting related projects
  • Experience overseeing high-visibility/high-budget project portfolios
  • Experience leading custom development projects with internal and external development resources
  • Demonstrated experience with agile methodology, including release and sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint are required; advanced project management platform skills preferred
  • Experience working in organizations with at least 500 employees preferred
  • Excellent and seasoned project-management skills, specifically in managing multiple large-scale information technology projects, navigating competing priorities, and adapting quickly to changing circumstances
  • Proven ability to build and maintain project-tracking systems (Planview, Airtable, Planner, Azure DevOps)
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can provide strategic project leadership and lead projects with limited guidance
  • Understands organizational systems and structures, teamwork, and project management
  • Confidence and composure required to effectively communicate at all levels, including executive level management
  • Track record of managing/navigating wide-ranging organizations and processes with strong work ethics
  • Proven problem-solver and generator of new ideas with strong sense of key business issues and opportunities
  • Strong sense of integrity and discretion; ability to handle sensitive information and issues while maintaining complete confidentiality
  • Regular meeting-facilitation experience
  • Maintains a positive, customer-focused attitude!
