About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify, research, and qualify prospective insurance clients through inbound inquiries, outbound outreach, referrals, networking, and approved sales channels
- Develop and maintain a sales pipeline through prospecting and follow-up
- Build relationships with prospective and existing clients and understand their insurance needs
- Conduct discovery calls and gather client, risk, coverage, budget, and renewal information
- Present insurance products, coverage options, policy features, exclusions, terms, and pricing
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, quotes, coverage comparisons, and client-facing materials
- Manage opportunities from initial contact through quotation, application, underwriting review, binding, and post-sale handoff
- Meet or exceed sales targets, activity goals, conversion objectives, and service-level expectations
- Respond to client questions and provide updates on quotes, applications, underwriting, approvals, policy issuance, and outstanding items
- Identify cross-selling and account expansion opportunities and support client retention and renewals
- Collect and verify client information, applications, financial details, risk data, loss history, and supporting documentation
- Coordinate quote requests with carriers, brokers, underwriters, and internal insurance teams
- Review quotes and proposals for completeness, accuracy, coverage details, premiums, commissions, dates, and requirements
- Track application, underwriting, inspection, approval, binding, and policy issuance milestones
- Assist with policy changes, endorsements, renewals, certificates, binders, declarations, invoices, and insurance documentation
- Maintain accurate prospect, client, opportunity, activity, quote, and policy information in CRM and insurance management systems
- Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline reports, activity reports, conversion updates, and performance reports
- Coordinate with accounting and finance teams on invoices, payments, commissions, refunds, adjustments, and billing discrepancies
- Follow insurance sales practices, licensing requirements, disclosure standards, privacy procedures, and internal compliance policies
- Protect confidential client, policy, financial, and business information
- Collaborate with insurance, accounting, finance, underwriting, claims, operations, and customer service teams
- Participate in meetings, product training, sales coaching, process reviews, and business development initiatives
- Stay informed about insurance products, market developments, carrier guidelines, client needs, and industry practices
- Share client feedback and sales challenges to support process, product, and service improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree or bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in insurance sales, financial services sales, business development, account management, or a related customer-facing role
- Strong English communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to prospect, qualify leads, present solutions, manage a sales pipeline, and close or advance opportunities
- Consultative selling skills and ability to explain insurance concepts clearly
- Professional phone, email, presentation, negotiation, and follow-up skills
- Strong customer relationship management and organizational skills
- Comfort using CRM systems, sales tools, spreadsheets, online meeting platforms, and insurance management systems
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing quotes, applications, policies, invoices, and client documentation
- Ability to independently manage multiple prospects, client requests, deadlines, and sales priorities
- Ability to handle confidential customer, policy, financial, and business information with discretion
- Reliable internet connection and suitable home office environment
- Ability to work effectively with remote or international teams
- Active insurance license or willingness and ability to obtain the required license, where applicable
- Experience with personal lines, commercial lines, employee benefits, life insurance, health insurance, property and casualty insurance, or other insurance products
- Experience with insurance agencies, carriers, brokers, financial services firms, or accounting-focused organizations
- Familiarity with insurance quoting, underwriting, policy issuance, renewals, endorsements, certificates, claims, and billing workflows
- Experience selling to U.S.-based clients or supporting U.S. insurance and financial services operations
- Knowledge of insurance licensing, privacy, consumer protection, and sales compliance practices
- Experience using CRM platforms, insurance agency management systems, quoting tools, or sales reporting software
- Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas, revenue targets, or business development goals
