About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create and maintain one or more Scrum Team Roadmaps
  • Prioritize and sequence the Backlog according to business value or ROI
  • Convey the Vision and Goals at the beginning of every Release and Sprint
  • Represent, interface with, and engage the customer
  • Collaborate with Scrum teams on Feature development, Product backlog maintenance, user stories, sprint support, and UAT testing
  • Work with BAs and Technology to create Behavior Driven Development stories where appropriate
  • Elaborate Epics, Themes, and Features into sprint-sized user stories
  • Participate in daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Release Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives
  • Inspect product progress and accept or reject completed work
  • Assess and change the project course at the end of each Sprint as needed
  • Maintain relationships with business and clients to understand current and changing needs
  • Participate in Organizational readiness activities
  • Serve as the primary internal and external point person for team updates and feedback
  • Identify and maintain KPIs supporting the team and assigned product
  • Independently lead and manage complex projects and business partner interactions
  • Stay informed on new technologies and introduce innovative solutions
  • Establish annual product goals, objectives, and outcomes; track and monitor KPIs
  • Provide critical leadership to drive Scrum teams
  • Coach and mentor other Product Owners and Scrum Team members
  • Participate in steering Center of Practice meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate degree in business or technology-related fields
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile and SDLC methodologies
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the assigned business domain, such as 401(k), IRA, or 529
  • Minimum 10 years' experience as a Product Owner or in a Technology (Development or QA) practice
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and executing Agile principles
  • Strong technical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and produce high-quality work adhering to standards, regulatory, and audit requirements
  • Strong consultative communication and writing skills
  • Ability to interact with and influence all levels of the organization
  • Experience with facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, change management, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Curiosity, detail orientation, strong analytical skills, and research skills
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Confluence, JIRA, Azure DevOps, and Aha!
  • Experience administering Confluence, JIRA, Azure DevOps, and Aha! is a plus
