Director of Business Development

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve census and growth targets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources including hospitals, providers, therapists, case managers, and community partners
- Identify and cultivate new referral opportunities and strategic partnerships across Iowa and surrounding markets
- Collaborate with admissions and operations teams to optimize conversion rates and patient experience
- Monitor referral pipeline, market trends, and competitive landscape to inform strategy
- Represent Renewal Falls at community events, conferences, and networking opportunities
- Conduct regular outreach, including in-person meetings, presentations, and educational sessions
- Track and report key performance metrics including referrals, admissions, and conversion rates
- Partner with leadership on growth initiatives, including new service lines and market expansion
- Maintain knowledge of payer mix, program offerings, and length of stay to support strategic positioning
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of business development experience, preferably in behavioral health or healthcare
- Proven ability to drive admissions growth and build referral networks
- Strong understanding of substance use disorder treatment and continuum of care
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally and regionally
