Key responsibilities & impact

Answer technical questions on Reliable products by telephone and email
Perform technical training for Reliable personnel
Assist with creation and maintenance of technical documentation
Meet with customers, specifying engineers, and end users to discuss the use, features, and benefits of Reliable products
Provide technical presentations to industry associations, customers, specifying engineers, and end users
Plan, develop, and execute hands-on and classroom training for sprinkler system designers and fitters
Provide input on new products and product improvements
Troubleshoot Reliable products
Represent Reliable at industry events, including AFSA, NFPA, NFSA, and SFPE
Directly support the sales force as necessary
Promote a safe workplace and comply with safety rules, procedures, equipment requirements, and personal protective equipment usage
Report unsafe workplace conditions or practices to a supervisor
Perform other duties as directed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Associate degree in fire protection, mechanical technology, or equivalent experience
5+ years in fire sprinkler system design and installation
Detailed understanding of NFPA standards and FM Global Loss Prevention Data Sheets
Extensive knowledge of all types of fire sprinkler systems and design and installation practices
Ability to safely operate a pickup truck/trailer combination exceeding 15,000 lbs
Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
Strong presentation skills, including presenting to large groups
Proficient in Microsoft Office software and AutoCAD
Ability to attend work punctually and regularly
Ability to travel regularly by car, truck, and air
Ability to occasionally lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs
Ability to operate and maintain a valve demonstration trailer
Ability to solve complex technical problems
Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
Strong customer service, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
Strong commitment to a team environment while working well independently
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Willingness and ability to undertake up to 50% domestic travel
