About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead strategic Medical Communications within the Therapeutic Area Medical Unit model
  • Develop and execute integrated medical communication strategies across commercial products and pipeline programs
  • Translate scientific evidence into strategies supporting annual medical plans and corporate objectives
  • Lead development of multichannel disease-state education assets and HCP engagement strategies
  • Oversee Medical Affairs website and content hub strategy, including content planning, taxonomy/SEO, asset readiness, MLR review coordination, and user-experience input
  • Integrate new assets, products, and therapeutic areas into medical communications platforms
  • Lead planning and execution for medical congress presence, including objectives, booth strategy, vendors, logistics, staffing, assets, and follow-up
  • Develop and review medical press releases, congress communications, and social/digital content
  • Develop internal communications highlighting Medical Affairs activities and impact
  • Support Medical Information and Field Medical content development
  • Monitor scientific publications, competitive insights, and disease-state knowledge
  • Develop annual tactical plan and budget; manage vendors, contracts, and invoicing
  • Develop and communicate metrics and KPIs demonstrating Medical Communications impact

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD or equivalent)
  • 10+ years of progressive Medical Affairs experience, including Medical Communications and Medical Information leadership responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic medical communications
  • Experience with digital medical communications platforms, content management systems, and multichannel engagement strategies
  • Experience in Medical Information operations, inquiry management, and compliant scientific exchange
  • Vendor management including performance, quality, and budget oversight
  • In-depth knowledge of Medical Affairs ethics and compliance environment
  • Approximately 20% domestic and international travel
