About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the card operations squad, ensuring deadlines are met and delivery quality
  • Participate in the daily financial reconciliation routine for card products (issuer and acquirers), ensuring operations properly reflect the accounting-financial position
  • Monitor and control volumes processed and settled for card transactions
  • Track and handle discrepancies in authorization files, settlement files, refunds/reversals, chargebacks and financial settlements from card brands and acquirers
  • Perform daily closing to review and reconcile financial balances and suspense/transit accounts
  • Manage the payment schedule to card brands and monitor balances related to the issuer card product
  • Maintain operational relationships with acquirers and card brands
  • Interact with internal areas: Treasury, Accounting, Product and Technology, to resolve inconsistencies and drive continuous improvement
  • Support the monthly closing process, ensuring all financial events are properly reconciled
  • Map and implement financial flows for new card operations
  • Participate in projects to onboard new card brands and system integrations
  • Identify opportunities and lead process automation initiatives using no-code/low-code tools and AI
  • Produce management reports and present area KPIs to management and partner teams
  • Monitor regulatory and operational updates from card brands, assessing impacts on reconciliation processes
  • Support internal and external audit requests
  • Ensure documentation and mapping of the area’s processes.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree (in progress or completed) in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or related fields
  • Previous experience in payment institutions and/or financial companies
  • Solid experience reconciling card brands and/or acquirers
  • Proven experience with card reconciliation
  • Knowledge of card issuer flows (authorization events, settlement, chargebacks)
  • Proficiency in financial reconciliation routines with ERP systems
  • Strong understanding of accounting-financial flows
  • Experience with external card reconciliation tools
  • Familiarity with applying artificial intelligence to financial processes
  • Experience in payment institutions or companies within the payments ecosystem.
