About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Implement the end-to-end data and AI governance roadmap, defining policies, standards and roles (Data Owners/Stewards), aligned with DAMA-DMBOK frameworks.
  • Guide junior and mid-level analysts and Analytics Engineers in executing governance activities.
  • Operate the data catalog (Unity Catalog / OpenMetadata) and manage access (RBAC), ensuring the infrastructure supports governance.
  • Ensure Data and AI Governance documentation and its adoption across data-consuming teams.
  • Establish observability frameworks, cost management (FinOps) in the analytics sandbox, SLAs and metrics (KPIs) to support leadership decision-making.
  • Lead regulatory and privacy initiatives (BACEN, LGPD), support audits and ensure the quality and lineage of regulatory data.
  • Define governance standards for predictive and generative AI, ensuring ethical and responsible use.
  • Drive data literacy and the self-service BI model.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous experience creating and implementing governance policies, processes and standards, access management, and data and AI compliance.
  • Proven expertise with Data Lakehouse environments, Databricks and Unity Catalog.
  • Knowledge of relational/multidimensional data modeling, advanced SQL and Data Mesh/Ops and medallion architectures.
  • Experience defining and building KPIs and dashboards (Power BI, Lakeview, Metabase, AI/BI).
  • Prior experience with hub-and-spoke models.
  • Applied knowledge of data management frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK or similar).
  • Familiarity with information security best practices and LGPD as applied to the data lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI usage.
  • Experience with agile methodologies.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to negotiate and manage priorities across teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field.
