About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Governance and Rituals: Define and evolve essential rituals such as Design Reviews and Design Critiques, ensuring the product's evolution follows quality standards.
- Process Standardization: Design, implement and iterate workflows that connect Design to the Product and Engineering lifecycle, eliminating communication and delivery bottlenecks.
- Onboarding Excellence: Structure and manage the onboarding process for new designers, ensuring they become able to contribute quickly.
- Documentation and Knowledge Management: Centralize the chapter's documentation in Confluence, keeping guides, playbooks and processes always up to date.
- Technical Documentation: Collaborate on documenting guidelines, component behaviors and best practices for using the Design System, ensuring information is accessible and clear for designers and developers.
- Success Metrics: Create and track KPIs for the design team's efficiency and the health of the operation.
- Team Support: Act as the focal point for questions about tools (e.g., Figma, Jira, etc.), the use of Design System components and internal processes.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience focused on Process Definition: Track record in defining, reviewing and implementing scalable Design Ops workflows (e.g., improving the Discovery flow, integrating Design into Agile teams).
- Product and Engineering Perspective: Solid understanding of how Product Managers and Developers work, able to speak their 'language' to facilitate technical negotiations.
- Design System Governance and Support: Hands-on experience supporting design systems, focused on structuring documentation, disseminating best practices and helping the team ensure correct adoption of components.
- Onboarding and Enablement Experience: Proven experience structuring or facilitating onboarding flows and training, demonstrating the ability to convey the area's culture, processes and strategies to new hires.
- Technical Documentation Management: Proficiency with tools like Confluence to create single sources of truth that serve both designers and technology partners.
- Facilitation and Influence Skills: Ability to manage stakeholders, resolve conflicts and influence the adoption of new ways of working without direct authority.
- Scalability Mindset: Comfortable working in fast-growing environments where processes must be robust yet flexible enough to evolve constantly.
