About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the scientific and clinical expert for an assigned region
- Represent Artiva’s scientific and clinical data to the medical community
- Partner with the Executive Director, Medical Science Liaisons to execute the national field medical strategy
- Drive pre-commercial and launch readiness
- Validate, refine, and prioritize regional KOLs and identify new academic researchers, community clinicians, and advocacy stakeholders
- Refine and prioritize high-volume rheumatology practices and identify influential community providers
- Lead peer-to-peer scientific discussions on the therapeutic pipeline, mechanisms of action, and complex clinical data
- Support medical advisory boards, symposia, and clinical training sessions
- Provide clinical presentations, support Investigator-Initiated Trials, and facilitate clinical trial site engagement
- Respond compliantly and objectively to unsolicited medical information requests
- Identify potential clinical trial sites, assist with feasibility assessments, and promote enrollment
- Synthesize clinical insights and competitive intelligence into actionable Medical Strategy recommendations
- Collaborate with Clinical, Regulatory, Commercial, Translational/Early R&D, Clinical Operations, Marketing, and Market Access teams on launch readiness and scientific messaging
- Represent Artiva at major medical congresses and execute congress strategy
- Coordinate pre-congress preparation and session coverage
- Support data dissemination and medical booth/display presence
- Gather, synthesize, and report actionable field intelligence to Commercial and R&D teams
- Provide internal medical and scientific training, including to field sales teams
- Mentor early-career Medical Science Liaisons
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 4 years of Medical Science Liaison / Medical Affairs experience; 6+ years preferred
- Pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience
- Direct ownership of KOL mapping validation, KOL engagement, HCP scientific exchange, advisory boards, medical insights, and competitive intelligence
- Formal training and hands-on experience in Immunology and/or Inflammation
- PharmD, MD, PhD, or equivalent scientific background strongly preferred
- Proven ability to operate in a highly external, travel-intensive role
- Travel approximately 75%
- Strong understanding of Medical Affairs compliance and scientific exchange standards
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to engage credibly with leading physicians and researchers
- Experience in early- to mid-stage biotech preferred
- Experience supporting clinical-stage programs, pre-launch activities, or Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS) preferred
- Rheumatology, immunology, and/or cell therapy experience preferred
