About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, organize, and control the shoulder arthroplasty product line from concept through product life cycles
- Provide leadership and guidance to Product and Project Managers
- Participate in product strategy, research and development requirements, development, and manufacturing coordination
- Manage technical product development, profit estimates, product release, and day-to-day progress
- Provide technical expertise and training to departments supporting product development
- Conduct marketing analysis, market research, competitive analysis, and market-trend tracking
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop customer- and market-responsive product definitions
- Develop and maintain prioritized customer and market requirements
- Coordinate marketing, sales, engineering, and financial plans for the product line
- Prepare product development objectives and schedules through market introduction
- Identify partnering opportunities for complementary third-party products
- Participate in key sales situations
- Analyze technical, financial, schedule, and sales information
- Define pricing, market strategies, promotional activities, distribution channels, and product phase-out plans
- Develop product-area strategies and applicable portions of the company business plan
- Coordinate programs, resources, budgets, and cross-functional organizational details
- Coordinate product introduction and market development with marketing and sales
- Provide ongoing product surveillance and management to meet financial objectives
- Work with cadaveric specimens
- Travel up to 25%
Requirements
What you’ll need- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and leadership skills
- Five or more years of related experience for Product Manager level
- Seven or more years of related experience for Sr. Product Manager level
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in engineering, business, clinical, or marketing
- Experience in medical device development, product management, engineering, sales, marketing, or clinical work
- Orthopedic experience preferred
- Understanding of product development, production, and marketing functions preferred
- Knowledge of surgical orthopedics
- Ability to coordinate activities across different functions
- Excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills
- Proven ability to travel preferred
- Ability to work with cadaveric specimens required
- Up to 25% travel required
