About the role
- Build, operate and continuously develop a scalable data platform (data warehouse / data lake / lakehouse)
- Develop and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate a wide variety of data sources
- Ensure data quality, performance, scalability, and cost optimization
- Implement monitoring, governance, and security frameworks (including GDPR)
- Work closely with analytics, product, and engineering teams
- Automate data processes and continuously improve existing architectures
- Actively shape the data strategy and evaluate new technologies
Requirements
- Several years of experience in data engineering or a comparable role
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, and solid engineering practices (testing, CI/CD)
- Deep understanding of modern data architectures and data modeling
- Practical experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and common data tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Spark, Snowflake)
- Strong quality and ownership mindset for production data pipelines
- Ability to communicate technical solutions clearly and translate business requirements
- Team player with an interest in mentoring and continuous development
- Business-fluent English (required); German skills are a plus.
