About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support senior team members in originating, structuring, and executing lending transactions across Europe
Manage activities across the deal lifecycle, from initial screening and due diligence through structuring, negotiation, and closing
Prepare investment memoranda and financial models for investment committee review
Coordinate with internal deal teams, local platforms, external advisors, and counterparties
Support deal pipeline management, early-stage screening, and ongoing portfolio monitoring and reporting
Conduct site visits and engage with sponsors, operating partners, and third-party advisors
Identify, assess, and escalate credit, legal, and structuring risks and propose mitigants
Ensure transactions comply with regulatory requirements, internal risk appetite, and lending policies
Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, brokers, borrowers, and other market participants
Contribute to the development and refinement of underwriting templates, policies, and processes
Regularly update internal systems with accurate deal status

Requirements

What you’ll need

Outstanding academic credentials with a degree from a leading institution
Direct experience in commercial real estate loan underwriting and execution within a bank, insurer, credit fund, or alternative lending platform
Strong working knowledge of UK and European real estate finance best practices
Exposure to a wide variety of real estate asset classes and jurisdictions
Advanced financial analysis and modelling skills
High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to interpret complex legal documentation and translate contractual obligations into operational processes
Understanding of development finance mechanics, including cost-to-complete analysis, draw processes, and reserve management
Ability to build and maintain robust models with sensitivity analyses for underwriting
Clear, structured written and verbal communication skills
Ability to draft formal credit memoranda and articulate complex financial matters
Strong relationship-building skills and high emotional intelligence
High levels of accountability, ownership, and professional judgement
Ability and desire to work in a collaborative, high-performance, client-facing investment environment
Additional Western European languages such as Italian or French are a strong plus but not required
