About the role
- Leading a team of five subject-matter experts, each specializing in key marketing platforms (such as marketing automation, CRM, content management, analytics, and project management systems).
- Ensuring all marketing tools and systems are fully leveraged, integrated, and aligned with business needs.
- Driving technology strategy and integration – championing the full portfolio of marketing tech platforms (e.g. CRM, marketing automation, digital asset management, web CMS, analytics dashboards, workflow/project management tools).
- Ensuring the tools are holistically integrated to support end-to-end marketing and sales processes.
- Work cross-functionally as the primary liaison to IT and development teams - translating marketing requirements into technical solutions and coordinating on system implementations or improvements.
- Oversee data integration and governance across marketing systems – for example, implementing structured workflows where campaign requests from marketers flow through project management software (e.g. Workfront) and automatically feed into CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) for lead tracking and sales follow-up.
- Ensuring structured, scalable processes for fulfilling all marketing campaign demands with consistency and transparency.
- Focus on operational efficiency and innovation Identifying opportunities to streamline marketing processes and increase productivity.
- Identifying opportunities for adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation tools where they add value. The manager may lead an AI integration initiative to automate repetitive marketing tasks, enhance data analysis, or personalize customer experiences at scale.
- Evaluate new marketing technologies and build business cases for investing in tools that improve campaign performance or team efficiency.
- Oversees implementation and drives user adoption and training – effectively acting as the in-house expert (SME) for all marketing tech platforms.
- Providing support and best-practice guidance to marketers and ensuring high utilization of features across the team.
- Mentoring and prioritizing the team’s workload Setting KPIs, SLAs and deliverables for the team.
Requirements
- Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a 4 year degree; or 8-year and an advanced degree; or equivalent related experience
- Strong people management experience in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Experience with project management, Experience with Workfront is preferred (or success implementing a project management platform)
- Preferred experience with Eloqua and Salesforce CRM
- Experience balancing resources and project timelines so that all marketing technology projects (systems integrations, enhancements, data migrations, etc.) are delivered on schedule and aligned with marketing campaign calendars
- Experience implementing governance around data quality (ensuring data is clean, consistent, and compliant across platforms) and setting service level agreements for turnaround time on marketing requests
- Experience tracking and reporting on the impact of the marketing tech stack: usage metrics, marketing performance improvements, and ROI achieved through technology-driven efficiencies or capabilities
