About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish and administer global EHS policies, standards, procedures, and programs across the organization
- Recommend and implement changes in accordance with changes in laws globally
- Drive continuous improvement in LTIR, TRIR, incident, and other key performance metrics
- Lead and promote the EHS function and develop a positive safety culture
- Raise awareness of preventive measures, risk management, continuous improvement, performance measurement, and organizational EHS
- Lead efforts to establish EHS as a core competency and central business practice
- Provide EHS consultation and information supporting company EHS efforts
- Work with management and staff on EHS issues affecting company functions
- Ensure appropriate safety, environmental, and regulatory training for associates
- Lead organization-wide safety communications
- Provide written reports and EHS-related updates to senior management
- Facilitate incident investigations, root cause analysis, site remediation, and corrective-action closure
- Ensure workplace compliance with federal, state, and regional regulatory requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in safety engineering, industrial safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science, business administration, or a related discipline
- Minimum 10+ years of Environmental Health & Safety experience
- At least 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of prior experience implementing a Global EHS program
- Ability to motivate and influence others at all levels to achieve safety and environmental objectives
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service
- Excellent knowledge of manufacturing principles and assembly production
- Experience using MS Office, MS Teams, and Outlook
- Ability to work across multiple organizations and business functions in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma
