About the role
- Manage the sale of products or services to customers in other countries.
- Research potential markets and conduct personal selling visits.
- Organise sales promotions, appoint agents and distributors, and negotiate sales contracts.
- Look for new opportunities to sell to different international markets.
- Build and maintain good relationships with customers, agents and distributors.
- Provide quotations for larger orders and complete tender documents.
- Monitor the processing of orders and check distribution schedules.
- Handle complaints or queries that occur after product delivery.
- Produce marketing plans, budgets and sales reports for company management.
- Organise sales briefings and conferences, and visit international trade fairs.

- Knowledge of international contract terms, foreign currencies, tariffs and trading regulations
- Verbal communication skills

- The ability to work to deadlines
- Knowledge of economics, business and accounting

- Number skills (for managing budgets and analysing sales figures, for example)
