About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead startup and commissioning of Armstrong equipment, including Variable Frequency Drives and Control Panels
Diagnose and repair pumps, automated valves, and other equipment
Document field work through the online portal
Provide on-site training to operators
Share field service insights with the After Sales team
Build customer relationships and demonstrate the value of Armstrong products
Identify opportunities for additional sales
Travel within the Western region up to 60% of the time, with occasional trips to other parts of the USA
Handle service requests, complaints, and startup inquiries by phone and email
Schedule and manage service visits
Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation
Train service and installation teams and mechanical contractors
Compile and review field reports for equipment performance and warranty adherence
Assist with connecting site equipment to the Internet or customer networks
Collaborate with engineering, project management, and sales teams
Identify and report product issues and contribute to process and design improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree or designation in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Applied Engineering, or a related field, with equivalent practical experience
Experience with drives, control panels, BAS systems, and automation
Familiarity with serial communications is a plus
Proven experience with mechanical pumps and HVAC systems
Proficiency in MS Office and strong software skills
Experience in commercial construction is desirable
Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of hydronic HVAC systems, Variable Frequency Drives, automation, and Building Automation Controls is preferred
Willingness and ability to travel within the Western region up to 60% of the time and occasionally elsewhere in the USA
Ability to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation
