About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead startup and commissioning of Armstrong equipment, including Variable Frequency Drives and Control Panels
  • Diagnose and repair pumps, automated valves, and other equipment
  • Document field work through the online portal
  • Provide on-site training to operators
  • Share field service insights with the After Sales team
  • Build customer relationships and demonstrate the value of Armstrong products
  • Identify opportunities for additional sales
  • Travel within the Western region up to 60% of the time, with occasional trips to other parts of the USA
  • Handle service requests, complaints, and startup inquiries by phone and email
  • Schedule and manage service visits
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation
  • Train service and installation teams and mechanical contractors
  • Compile and review field reports for equipment performance and warranty adherence
  • Assist with connecting site equipment to the Internet or customer networks
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and sales teams
  • Identify and report product issues and contribute to process and design improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree or designation in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Applied Engineering, or a related field, with equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with drives, control panels, BAS systems, and automation
  • Familiarity with serial communications is a plus
  • Proven experience with mechanical pumps and HVAC systems
  • Proficiency in MS Office and strong software skills
  • Experience in commercial construction is desirable
  • Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of hydronic HVAC systems, Variable Frequency Drives, automation, and Building Automation Controls is preferred
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the Western region up to 60% of the time and occasionally elsewhere in the USA
  • Ability to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation
