About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the engagement and workflow of all deliverables for multiple non-profit clients
  • Oversee all aspects of the single audit engagement
  • Identify and resolve accounting and audit technical issues
  • Lead the engagement planning process
  • Determine and approve staffing and other resource needs
  • Review engagement work papers and related deliverables
  • Delegate assignments to supervisors
  • Participate in the peer review process
  • Conduct or review research of complex accounting and financial reporting issues
  • Coordinate and monitor the services provided by other departments
  • Keep the partner informed about client updates
  • Assist in developing fee quotes and budgets
  • Preparation of client billings and collection of outstanding accounts
  • Utilize assurance department methodologies to enhance efficiency
  • Develop into a trusted advisor for clients
  • Prepare presentations for audit exit and committee meetings
  • Participate in activities to develop and improve firm processes
  • Serve as an instructor in training programs and meetings
  • Develop less experienced professionals through feedback, counseling, and mentoring

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
  • CPA license
  • Minimum of 2 years of managerial experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience working in a public accounting firm including significant experience within a public accounting firm and/or equivalent or related experience in industry or a nonprofit organization
  • Assurance, leadership, guidance or supervisory experience is required.
  • Advanced understanding of applicable U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (“GAAS”)
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
  • Flexibility to work from home while collaborating in person half the time.
