About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the engagement and workflow of all deliverables for multiple non-profit clients
- Oversee all aspects of the single audit engagement
- Identify and resolve accounting and audit technical issues
- Lead the engagement planning process
- Determine and approve staffing and other resource needs
- Review engagement work papers and related deliverables
- Delegate assignments to supervisors
- Participate in the peer review process
- Conduct or review research of complex accounting and financial reporting issues
- Coordinate and monitor the services provided by other departments
- Keep the partner informed about client updates
- Assist in developing fee quotes and budgets
- Preparation of client billings and collection of outstanding accounts
- Utilize assurance department methodologies to enhance efficiency
- Develop into a trusted advisor for clients
- Prepare presentations for audit exit and committee meetings
- Participate in activities to develop and improve firm processes
- Serve as an instructor in training programs and meetings
- Develop less experienced professionals through feedback, counseling, and mentoring
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
- CPA license
- Minimum of 2 years of managerial experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience working in a public accounting firm including significant experience within a public accounting firm and/or equivalent or related experience in industry or a nonprofit organization
- Assurance, leadership, guidance or supervisory experience is required.
- Advanced understanding of applicable U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (“GAAS”)
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
- Flexibility to work from home while collaborating in person half the time.
