💰 $175,000 - $215,300 per year
About the role
- Manage engagement and workflow of audited, reviewed, and compiled financial statements and related deliverables for multiple clients
- Take full responsibility for assurance deliverables including signing authority
- Identify and resolve accounting and audit technical issues
- Lead engagement planning: timing, resources, risk assessment, and engagement approach
- Determine and approve staffing, resources, and engagement schedules
- Review engagement work papers and deliverables to ensure firm and professional standards are met
- Delegate assignments and develop supervisors/managers
- Participate in peer review process and act as technical expert in accounting and audit methods
- Lead research of complex accounting/financial reporting issues and prepare memorandums
- Coordinate services provided by other departments and niches and lead industry expertise
- Lead development of fee quotes, budgets, client billings, and collections
- Utilize department methodologies and tools to enhance engagement efficiencies and profitability
- Act as trusted advisor and primary client contact year-round; cross-sell partner/service line offerings
- Lead audit exit, audit committee, and board presentations
- Participate in practice development, proposals, publications, and firm/department process improvements
- Serve as instructor in firm training and develop less experienced professionals through feedback, counseling, and mentoring
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
- 10-15+ years of experience working in a public accounting firm
- 5+ years of managerial experience
- Assurance leadership, guidance or supervisory experience required
- Experience signing audit opinions
- Advanced understanding and application of applicable U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (“GAAS”)
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
- CPA license
- Flexibility to work from home while collaborating in person half the time
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
