About the role

  • The Developer AI Learning Systems Integration is responsible for building, integrating, and optimizing AI-powered learning capabilities such as chatbots, intelligent tutoring systems, and analytics engines within LMS environments. This role enables automation, personalization, and scale across modern digital learning ecosystems. As a critical member of the learning innovation team, you will develop both frontend and backend components that connect AI capabilities to learners and instructors through seamless LMS integration. The ideal candidate blends technical fluency, AI development experience, and a passion for transforming user learning experiences.
  • Key Responsibilities AI Feature Development:
  • Design and develop intelligent components such as chatbots, virtual assistants, and adaptive tutors using natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, and AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, Google Dialogflow).
  • Build analytics engines to process user data, deliver insights, and support learner feedback loops.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers to align AI behavior with pedagogical goals and UX expectations. LMS Integration (Frontend & Backend)
  • Integrate AI tools with LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Docebo, Blackboard) via APIs, SDKs, or middleware.
  • Develop and maintain custom plugins, widgets, or microservices to enhance LMS functionality.
  • Support both frontend UI/UX and backend logic to ensure seamless user interactions and performance. Automation & Personalization Enablement
  • Implement workflows and data pipelines that support content automation, user segmentation, and personalized learning paths.
  • Leverage learner behavior and profile data to dynamically adapt content, pacing, or support features.
  • Support interoperability and data exchange across LMS, CMS, and AI systems using standards like xAPI or LTI. Testing, Optimization & Support
  • Conduct unit testing, QA, and A/B experiments to validate performance and improve user experience.
  • Monitor application performance, manage error handling, and troubleshoot integration issues.
  • Maintain clean, modular, and documented code for maintainability and scalability. Innovative & Adaptive Mindset

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of development experience, including experience with AI/ML models, APIs, or intelligent systems.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js) and web frameworks (e.g., React, Django, Flask).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience working with or integrating into LMS platforms via RESTful APIs, LTI, or SCORM/xAPI.
  • Experience with AI development libraries and platforms (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, Rasa).
  • Knowledge of data privacy, accessibility, and ethical use of AI in educational environments.
  • Familiarity with learning science, instructional systems, or educational UX.
  • Exposure to government, DoD, or large enterprise learning ecosystems is a plus.
