About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements using GAAP and enterprise allocation methods
- Analyze and review financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
- Assist with special projects
- Assist with financial reporting audits involving internal audits, the Arkansas Insurance Department, independent auditors, and/or the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association
- Perform advanced accounting functions, including journal entries, invoice coding, accounting analysis, and reconciliation
- Prepare supporting financial data
- Reconcile, confirm, and maintain general ledger accounts
- Review peers' work and provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced accountants
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- If degree is in Finance, successful completion of Intermediate Accounting I & II required
- Minimum three (3) years' accounting experience, or an applicable Master's in a related field with minimum one (1) year's experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
- Organizational and detail-oriented abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Knowledge of GAAP and enterprise allocation methods
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Analytical decision making and problem solving
- Applied mathematics and data analysis
- Critical thinking and deductive reasoning
- Cross-functional planning and collaborative communication
- Document recording, information ordering, and research skills
- Time management, sound judgment, and written and oral communication
- Ability to comply with security, confidentiality, and segregation-of-duties requirements
