About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements using GAAP and enterprise allocation methods
Analyze and review financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
Assist with special projects
Assist with financial reporting audits involving internal audits, the Arkansas Insurance Department, independent auditors, and/or the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association
Perform advanced accounting functions, including journal entries, invoice coding, accounting analysis, and reconciliation
Prepare supporting financial data
Reconcile, confirm, and maintain general ledger accounts
Review peers' work and provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced accountants
Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
If degree is in Finance, successful completion of Intermediate Accounting I & II required
Minimum three (3) years' accounting experience, or an applicable Master's in a related field with minimum one (1) year's experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
Organizational and detail-oriented abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Knowledge of GAAP and enterprise allocation methods
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft PowerPoint
Analytical decision making and problem solving
Applied mathematics and data analysis
Critical thinking and deductive reasoning
Cross-functional planning and collaborative communication
Document recording, information ordering, and research skills
Time management, sound judgment, and written and oral communication
Ability to comply with security, confidentiality, and segregation-of-duties requirements
