About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with grading and course management for remotely delivered Universal Learner Courses
  • Provide feedback and grade support on in-class activities and assignments
  • Monitor and grade learner assignments
  • Help learners navigate challenges within the Universal Learner Course
  • Address learner challenges via course Discussion boards
  • Monitor and engage in discussion activities
  • Host live sessions with learners as assigned by faculty
  • Participate in initial training and calibration sessions
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Learning Enterprise team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field, or equivalent combination of experience and/or training
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Position does not meet eligibility requirements for Optional Practical Training (OPT) work authorization
  • Must complete mandatory fingerprinting
  • Ability to grade in one or more of: Astronomy, Physics, Biology, Environmental Science, Human Health and Culture, Sustainability, Conservation, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • Significant understanding of relevant course concepts
  • Ability to provide substantive feedback and grade learner assignments in a timely manner
  • Proficient in English
  • Must have completed ENG 101, ENG 102, ENG 105, or equivalent
  • Experience with Canvas or a comparable Learning Management System
  • Content knowledge and/or coursework in a related field
  • Ability to work proactively with limited oversight
  • Ability to excel in changing or challenging circumstances
  • Commitment to provide consistent support to students
  • Master's degree in a related course or area of experience is desired
  • Prior teaching experience is a plus
  • Experience working with high-school students is preferred
  • Experience as a tutor and/or with student success is desired
