About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collects and reviews financial aid documents for completeness, accuracy, and consistency of data from FAFSA, federal tax returns, financial aid transcripts, and other verification documents.
- Requests additional information regarding incomplete or inconsistent applications.
- Answers questions, inquiries, or requests of students and staff regarding financial aid eligibility and awards.
- Works as a liaison between staff and students to ensure optimal student experience and processing times.
- Serves as part of a support team for online students.
- Manages outbound call/ text/email campaigns as instructed by the Lead to ensure financial aid file completion.
- Proactively partners with the FASS team to escalate students requiring tier 2 assistance.
- Follows up on document/student action requests as directed by Lead to ensure accurate, timely receipt of financial aid information.
- Assumes or coordinates other duties or projects as assigned or directed.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
- Experience in providing customer service.
- Experience in supporting students from diverse backgrounds via telephone, email, video, and chat.
- Experience using customer relationship management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial aid policies and procedures.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced call center environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of government rules, regulations, guidelines, and procedures related to financial aid.
