About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Install, configure, administer, and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
Monitor database health, performance, and availability.
Perform database performance tuning and query optimization.
Manage backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery processes.
Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions.
Implement database security, user management, and access controls.
Support database upgrades, patching, and migrations.
Manage AWS database services including Amazon RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL.
Monitor AWS resources using CloudWatch and Performance Insights.
Configure and maintain backup, failover, and high-availability solutions.
Work with AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, SNS, and AWS Backup.
Optimize database infrastructure for cost, performance, and scalability.
Implement security best practices including encryption and IAM policies.
Administer and maintain Snowflake environments.
Manage virtual warehouses, databases, schemas, roles, and permissions.
Monitor Snowflake performance and optimize warehouse utilization.
Support data loading, data sharing, and integration processes.
Troubleshoot Snowflake operational and performance issues.
Assist with user management, tablespace monitoring, and database health checks.
Support backup and recovery activities using RMAN.
Execute data export/import activities using Data Pump (expdp/impdp).

Requirements

What you’ll need

3–5 years of experience in PostgreSQL database administration.
Experience with AWS RDS PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL.
Strong understanding of PostgreSQL replication, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
Experience administering Snowflake Data Cloud.
Basic knowledge of Oracle Database administration.
Strong SQL and query optimization skills.
Experience with Linux/Unix administration.
Familiarity with CloudWatch, Performance Insights, Datadog.
Experience with database migration, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Understanding database security, auditing, and compliance best practices.
