About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise and lead a purchasing team, assigning responsibilities, ensuring a professional and respectful work environment, and driving expected results.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the client’s business, procedures, purchasing segmentation, specifics of each purchase, and supplier base.
  • Be responsible for purchasing all services, MRO materials, spare parts, and all indirect purchasing categories for the client, always aiming to secure the best purchase (lowest price) while maintaining quality and delivery service.
  • Develop departmental strategies, identifying the best purchasing opportunities for products and services to achieve the best possible prices and alternative competitive sources through supplier prospecting.
  • Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers based on criteria such as quality, price, delivery lead time, and reliability.
  • Ensure the requesting area provides the technical scope with all input information/data so the buying team can execute procurement activities.
  • Ensure analysis and handling of the client’s purchasing data, evaluating purchasing history and defining purchasing strategies, catalogs, and contracts.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with internal policies and internal/external regulations.
  • Ensure the team prepares price comparisons based on supplier proposals in a technical manner. Prepare competitive analysis maps of medium and high complexity, manage targets, and pursue maximum negotiation efficiency.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Apply e-procurement tools/technologies to improve processes.
  • Continuously support buyers in using best market practices.
  • Handle emerging issues by implementing quick and effective solutions.
  • Act as a Business Partner to the client, identifying opportunities and implementing work rationalization strategies and improvements in purchasing efficiency.
  • Monitor, track and report monthly on operational performance goals, preparing specific monthly KPIs such as negotiation results (savings), supplier base reduction, and payment terms.
  • Understand the current state of contracts and develop a strategic plan to maximize opportunities with suppliers through negotiation or resourcing.
  • Communicate and lead formal meetings and presentations with suppliers, factories, and internal areas at all management levels.
  • Monitor economic and market indicators and ensure buyers use this information in supplier negotiations.
  • Reduce all supply risks.
  • Responsible for price registration, supplier records, updating price tables, issuing orders, and all related procurement procedures in the system provided by the client.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with SLAs established in contracts.
  • Prepare presentations and performance reports for the board of directors.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience managing procurement of indirect materials and MRO, covering all purchasing segments such as electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, automation, valves, hygiene and cleaning, tools, tooling, packaging, office supplies, oils and lubricants, etc.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel; Power BI is a plus.
  • Knowledge of procurement tools/platforms and e-procurement systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in indirect/MRO purchasing, contract management, and daily management of an indirect procurement area.
  • Desired behavioral competencies: Communication; Results orientation; Negotiation; Critical thinking; Teamwork.
  • Initiative for innovation and continuous improvement in pursuit of better results.
  • Ability to adapt and act as an extended arm of the client.
  • Continuous focus on cost reduction in all negotiations.
