• Assist in designing and building solid-state, semiconductor, fiber laser, and optical systems
• Modeling and simulating laser and optical performance
• Planning measurements, diagnostics, and experiments
• Acquiring laser and optical performance data
• Analyzing experimental data
• Validating theories on system performance through measurement and analysis
• Conducting research and development related to lasers and electro-optical systems
• Develop and document diagnostics and processes for laser and optical system evaluation and fabrication
• Develop component specifications, tolerances, simulations, and test procedures
• Drive technical research for laser and sensor development programs
• Manage proposals for pursuits of new science and technology business
• Prepare calculations, models, and simulations to predict laser system performance

• Submit technical proposals for research and development programs

• Work closely with seasoned Engineers
• Support design tasks, assist in integration, and conduct tests for components and systems
• Participate in hardware testing and troubleshooting
• Design prototype components using electronics and mechanical lab tools
• Generate, revise, update, compile, and debug scientific or software computer programs
• Consolidate and analyze datasets both structured and unstructured
• Stay updated on analytic methodologies and technologies

• Participate in hardware testing, assist in troubleshooting, and delve into system capabilities to address input/output issues when needed.
• Apply your engineering skills to design prototype components, using electronics and mechanical lab tools from soldering irons and oscilloscopes to 3-D printing.
• Assist in generating, revising, updating, compiling, and debugging various scientific or software computer programs.
• Contribute to consolidating and analyzing a broad spectrum of datasets, both structured and unstructured.
• Be proactive in staying updated on the latest analytic methodologies and technologies and apply what you've learned to build smarter systems.
