About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

ARES supports public-sector clients and regulated organizations with cloud transformations, as well as the development of private clouds and internal developer platforms.
You take product ownership in our client projects and connect it with a broad understanding of modern cloud and platform architectures.
Together with clients and engineers, you develop a clear target vision and a usable, operable product from partly unclear requirements.
Develop the product vision, target architecture and roadmap for cloud and developer platforms
Structure and prioritize requirements and translate them into concrete implementation steps
Define deliverables, acceptance criteria and conditions for sign-off
Ensure the platform delivers value to its users
Prepare architectural decisions together with clients, engineers and specialists
Create and align initial drafts for architecture, operations and security concepts
Facilitate workshops, refinements and technical-functional discussions
When needed: support technical concepts for proposals and tender submissions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed degree or vocational training in an IT-related field
Experience as a Technical Product Owner, Product Manager, Enterprise/Solution Architect, Engagement Manager or in a comparable role
Understanding of cloud transformations, private cloud or internal developer platforms, and a broad architecture knowledge (e.g., compute, networking, storage, IAM, security)
Ability to quickly grasp and structure complex topics
Self-motivation and excellent communication, facilitation and conceptualization skills
Excellent German and English skills
Willingness to travel within Germany (on average up to 3 days/month)
Willingness to undergo a security clearance (SÜ1 or SÜ2) according to SÜG
Technically, you should be able to classify several of the following topics: Private/Hybrid/Sovereign Cloud
Kubernetes/OpenShift/Rancher
Platform Engineering and Internal Developer Platforms
CI/CD, GitOps and Infrastructure as Code
IAM, security and observability
DevOps, SRE and modern operating models
