About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Technical and disciplinary responsibility for an experienced team of Cloud & DevOps Engineers, including project coordination and resource planning
You will spend at least 60% of your time directly on client projects — through architecture, technical design, or implementation for public-sector clients
Support with tenders and proposals as well as technical support in presales discussions
Active development of your team members — both professionally and personally
Strategic involvement in shaping ARES's growth

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree or vocational training in an IT-related field
Initial experience in presales or technical customer consulting
Experience with cloud-native technologies, particularly in private cloud or hybrid environments
Solid knowledge of the Kubernetes ecosystem and public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, STACKIT)
Experience in architecture — you can design complex environments and confidently justify technical decisions
Industry experience in the public sector or KRITIS (critical infrastructure) environment
Interest in recruiting and leading personnel, ideally with some prior experience
Independent, communicative working style with strong customer orientation
Very good German and English language skills
Willingness to travel within Germany (on average max. 3 days/month)
Willingness to undergo a security check (SÜ1 or SÜ2) under the Security Clearance Act (SÜG)
