About the role

  • Lead a team of Technologists across multiple projects
  • Ensure Ardmac design solutions are of the highest quality, delivered on schedule, and within budget
  • Take responsibility for the production, supervision, and delivery of design solutions
  • Ensure a smooth handover of design packages to the construction team
  • Review project specifications and scope and agree deliverables
  • Manage project design budgets and programmes using last planner and other planning tools
  • Ensure all designs comply with regulations and standards
  • Report output and productivity against agreed targets
  • Mentor assigned resources to support their professional development
  • Generate and manage technical aspects of subcontractor packages
  • Oversee product selection, detailing, and material interfacing
  • Raise and respond to design stage RFIs and COVIs
  • Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety Plan design criteria
  • Identify long-lead materials to assist procurement
  • Attend site meetings as required
  • Assist with tender proposal preparation
  • Protect the company’s contractual position at design stage, including correspondence with the Design Team and subcontractors
  • Promote and protect Ardmac’s image and interests

Requirements

  • BSc. in Architectural Technology
  • Proficiency in BIM – Autodesk Revit, Navisworks & AutoCAD
  • Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and Design Standards, including BCAR
  • Experience in technical detailing and material specification
  • Understanding of drawing symbols and standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deliver technical innovation and value creation
  • Experience of working in a building contractor environment is preferred
  • Exposure to industrial projects such as in pharma and electronics is desirable
