About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Transportation Analyst is responsible for managing, analyzing, and optimizing truck and intermodal transportation operations.
- Supports Ardent Mills’ internal and external customers and drives the execution of the transportation strategy.
- Responsible for managing and maintaining strong relationships with carriers by monitoring performance, analyzing freight data, and providing actionable insights.
- Participate in monthly reviews to develop action plans for load service metrics and operational stability KPIs.
- Ensure carriers compliance with regulatory requirements related to truck transportation, including DOT regulations, safety standards, and environmental rules.
- Work cross-functionally with supply chain, operations, sales, warehousing, procurement, and customer service teams to ensure seamless transportation operations.
- Track and analyze freight expenses, identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in transportation or logistics, with a focus on truck transportation.
- Proven experience analyzing transportation data and managing relationships with carriers or third-party logistics providers.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is essential.
- Experience with transportation management software (TMS) is highly preferred.
- Understanding of truck transportation operations, including routing, fleet management, and freight regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with teams.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma) are a plus.
- Experience working for a carrier or third-party logistics company
- Experience with bulk transportation.
- Experience in food logistics.
- Cross border or dedicated freight experience
- Experience negotiating rates and contracts
