About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • As a Business Operations Intern, you support projects that improve the efficiency, accuracy and effectiveness of our People operations.
  • You support projects to improve the quality and integrity of People data, ensuring organisational structures, employee records and documentation remain accurate and up to date.
  • You review existing workflows and translate manual processes into clear process maps, checklists and standard operating procedures.
  • You identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks using digital tools, AI and workflow automation platforms, helping reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
  • You assist in developing automated reports and dashboards that improve operational visibility, reporting accuracy and decision-making.
  • You support the testing and implementation of new workflows, templates and process improvements across the People function.
  • You conduct research, analyse existing processes and recommend practical improvements that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
  • You maintain process documentation, version control and operational libraries, ensuring information remains organised, current and accessible.
  • You collaborate with the People team on operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently enrolled in a university programme requiring a mandatory internship of a minimum of 12 weeks.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline, with an interest in business operations, process improvement, workflow automation, project management, systems development or business analytics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to work.
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, structured data and process documentation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets; experience with Power BI, Looker Studio or similar reporting tools is advantageous.
  • Interest in workflow automation, AI tools or low-code platforms is highly desirable.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to document processes clearly and logically.
  • Curious, proactive and eager to learn in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
